different possibilities for sightseeing
and recreation are offered in the
near and farther neighbourhood. That
is why even more demanding guests
looking not only for sunbathing and
swimming in the crystal clean water
will not be bored.
Well-known sites
in the neighbourhood:
• ancient pirate city of Omiš, situated
at the mouth of the river Cetina,
famous for its Summer Festival of
‘Klapa’ Singing (only 4 km away);
• over 1700 years old but very well
preserved Diocletian’s Palace, around
which Split of today has arisen,
that has been listed on the UNESCO’s
World Heritage List (20 km away);
• archaeological remains of the
old Salonae (today’s Solin), 20
km away;
• historic nucleus of Trogir, a
small city founded by the old Greeks,
which is also on the World Heritage
List of famous sites. It is especially
known for its cathedral with the
gateway by the sculptor Radovan
(45 km away).
Sports and recreation:
• Water sports: water skiing, ‘banana’
skiing, jet ski, ‘pedaline’, rent-a-boats
• Adventure program: rafting on
the nearby river Cetina, canoeing,
canoe safari, diving, free climbing,
paintball etc.
• One-day trips to the islands (fish-picnics)

in more distant destinations we
could recommend to visit Imotski
with its two Karst lakes (80 km
away), the old city of Dubrovnik,
the so-called “Pearl of the Adriatic”,
also listed by UNESCO in cultural
heritage sites of world importance
(220 km away), Zadar (180 km), Šibenik
(105 km), as well as National Park
Krka. Those interested in religious
tourism can also visit Međugorje
in the nearby Herzegovina (130 km
away).
