Zadar is an ancient city built in the middle of the Croatian Adriatic, it is rich on historical and cultural sites. The city has a three thousand years old long, turbulent and dynamic history.Many times it was burned to the ground, robed, destroyed and every time it rose from the ruins stronger, more beautiful and richer then before.
Prominent cultural sites of the old part of the city are : church of St. Donat, the Forum, St.Anastasia cathedral, church of St. Simon,church and monastery of St. Frances, church and monastery of St. Mary, churc of St. Andrew, St.Peter, St.Michael….. The Zadar region is surrounded by no less than five national parks:Paklenica, Kornati, Plitvice lakes,Krka waterfalls and Northern Velebit.In only an hour or two by car or by boat it is possible to reach the Nacional Parks.
This climate zone shows typical Mediterranean characteristics. Summer climate is ideal forpeople who want to use up all the vacation for fun and swimming because rain comes very rarely at summer, so you practically cannot pick a wrong date for your comeing in Zadar.
